Dorset
Reclaim Charity Outlet opens in Bournemouth
03/2011
~ ~ ~
The Dorset Charity Outlet is a new depot available to the general public.
Its purpose is to support Dorset Reclaim as a whole. All proceeds will go into the main charity,
allowing us to keep providing low prices to the people who need them the most. It is based at
69 Windham Road, exactly where our temporary depot was located for the last year.
If you are on a low income you may also be eligible to purchase from our main depot at 85 Stanley
Road, which is only a 5 mns walk from the Charity Outlet.

Future
Jobs Fund
2010
~ ~ ~
We were successful in bidding for funds earlier in the year to create jobs for 18 - 24 year olds
across our four sites, with jobs as diverse as office and admin, trainee engineers, drivers and
warehouse staff.
A total of 35 young people will benefit from the scheme run by the Department of Work & Pensions
administered locally by Dorset County Council over a period of 18 months, helping Dorset Reclaim
to benefit from an influx of new talent.
We will be providing jobs for a period of 6 months with full training.
Of the first intake of 18, we are hoping to retain 3 on further temporary contracts, with one
to go on to an apprenticeship in engineering.

Bournemouth
Depot destroyed by fire
20/01/2010
~ ~ ~
Bournemouth depot has today suffered a devastating fire, which destroyed all contents and most
of the building. The remains of the building will be demolished shortly.
Dorset Reclaim has always been a "Can do" organisation and these circumstances will not stop
this community charity project doing what it has done for over 11 years, which is helping the
people it was created for.

WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
Designed and created by volunteer Peter Kennewell at Dorchester Depot, the "WEEE Fella" and his
dog, made of disused household appliances, helped the Dorset Reclaim team, along with our partners
from the Council, win first prize in the small exhibitor category.
We teamed up with Dorset County Council and West Dorset District Council to show the benefits
of reusing and recycling household items.
